Nerlinger Confident Will Feature In Champions League Final
The Frenchman was suspended for three games for a dangerous tackle on Lyon midfielder Lisandro Lopez in the semi-final first-leg clash at the Allianz Arena last month, ruling him out of the Madrid final against Inter Milan on May 22.
UEFA’s disciplinary committee dismissed the Bavarians’ appeal against the ban earlier this week, but Nerlinger believes the Bundesliga outfit will have more luck when the CAS returns its verdict – probably in the middle of next week.
“The main issue is how you classify this foul, which undoubtedly was one,” Nerlinger said on the club’s website.
“Everybody who has even the slightest knowledge about football and has seen this incident will confirm that it is not violent conduct, but foul play.
“Franck just comes a split-second too late.
“For me, this decision is unjustifiable, which is why we are escalating it higher.”
