NB donates clinic to Nigeria Immigration Service

The Nigerian Immigration Service in Ikoyi, Lagos has commissioned a newly constructed clinic for the use of officers and passport applicants. The facility was donated by Nigerian Breweries (NB) Plc, fully equipped with a 100KVA generating set.

According to the company, the donation was done in line with its philosophy of Winning with Nigeria and belief in the Nigerian project. Corporate Affairs Adviser, Kufre Ekanem, who represented the Managing Director, Johan Doyer, said the donation was a gesture that would contribute to the overall welfare of the immigration officers as they work to strengthen the security and prosperity of Nigeria through effective migration management.

Ekanem disclosed that Nigerian Breweries, as an operating company of Heineken, has witnessed cooperation from the service through its operations that require a huge traffic of personnel into and outside of the country.

Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Mr. Mohammed Babandede, who was represented by Assistant Comptroller of Immigration, Zone A, Lagos Command, Ishaku Hamad, commended the brewery giant for the medical facility and assured the company of its continued support in the future.

“I was here 10 years ago as head of this passport office and I remember we used to have many casualties then of people collapsing. The closest health facility is the Military Hospital at Onikan. We, therefore, thank Nigerian Breweries for this great asset donated to the Immigration Service for the use of officers and applicants.”

He further called on all corporate organizations to take similar strides in corporate social responsibility.
