THE rank of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State depleted yesterday as a former deputy governor, Lucky Imasuen, the party’s deputy governorship candidate in the 2012 poll, Johnson Abolagba and the party’s deputy state chairman (Edo South), Christopher Adesoto and over 3,000 of their supporters joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Imasuen, who led the defectors at a well-attended rally at the traditional Urhokpota Ground, described the claim of their being suspended as nonsensical.

“We are tired of the PDP and the manipulations of the leadership and we decided to leave and they are dead in Edo South and across the state,” the ex-deputy governor stated.

Meanwhile, PDP has expressed its determination to reclaim the state in next year’s governorship election, urging its members to embrace the party’s ongoing membership Biometric /E- registration exercise.

“It will give candidates a level playing ground and return power to the people rather than in the hands of a few persons within the party,” PDP urged
