Man fetes 1,000 widows, orphans in Plateau

In spite of the biting recession in the country, the milk of human kindness has not stopped flowing from some kindhearted Nigerians to the less privileged.

One of such is Stanley Uzochukwu of STANEL Oil who brought together about 1,000 widows and orphans from different religious groups and denominations within and outside Abuja to put smiles on their faces.

Commending the generosity of the young philanthropist, president of the Widows Association, ECWA Church, Tudun Wada in Plateau State, Hanatu Danladi, described Stanley as a “great philanthropist” saying he has been putting smiles on the faces of helpless widows and orphans secretly from different religious groups and denominations since 2011.

“I am overwhelmed by his generosity towards the less privileged, particularly the widows and orphans. He is the reason why over 1,000 of us are surviving the current recession. He visits us three to four times each year since 2011, and usually comes with trucks of different food items such as rice, maize, groundnut oil, wrappers, cartons of both washing and bathing soaps, cartons of tomatoes, mattresses, packets of maagi, bags of salt, bags of sugar and other provisions.”

It would be recalled that Uzochukwu last year celebrated his birthday with the needy at two Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps – Stephanus Foundation, Bukuru and House of Recap British American Junction in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

During the visit, food items, clothes, toiletries, mattresses and undisclosed amount of money were donated to alleviate the sufferings of the IDPs.
