Man, 28, remanded in prison for allegedly stealing goods worth N160,000

An Okitipupa Magistrates’ Court sitting at Ondo State on Thursday remanded a 28 year old man, Kunle Akinsinku, in prison custody over alleged felony, burglary and stealing of goods worth N160,000.

The prosecutor, Insp. Zedekiah Orogbemi, told the court that the accused of no fixed address and occupation is facing a three-count charge of felony, burglary and stealing.

The prosecution told the court that the accused had on June 28 burgled the residence of one Mrs Juliet Akinsemoyin of No.16, Seja St, Okitipupa.

Orogbemi said that the accused stole two Tecno handsets, one HP laptop and other valuables; all valued at N160, 000.

He said that the offences contravened Sections 360, 390(9) and 412, Criminal Code, Cap.37, Vol.1 Laws of Ondo State, 2006.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against him.

The Magistrate, Mr Banji Ayeomoni, ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody till Aug. 20 for hearing.
