Malaysian Transport Minister, Liow Lai, said the appeal was to allow the experts to conduct more substantive analysis, in the event that more materials suspected to be debris of the missing aircraft is washed ashore.

He said U.S, China, France and Boeing have promised to send representatives to participate in further verification of the flaperon found on the island and sent to Toulouse on Wednesday.

Lai said that the flaperon discovered on Reunion Island, has been officially identified being part of a Boeing 777 aircraft, the same type of missing aircraft.

He said the pronouncement on the flaperon was made after a series of verification by a group of aviation authorities.

Lai said the flaperon was verified by French authorities together with aircraft manufacturer, Boeing, and U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
