LERA hosts Lekki residents, tasks organisations on corporate governance

Residents of Lekki Phase 1 have been assured of a better living environment. Giving the assurance was Chairman, Lekki Phase I Residents Association (LERA), Prof Olumide Ajose.

At a breakfast meeting convened by the association at the Lekki Heights Hotels, Ajose enumerated problems faced by the estate, which ranged from poor drainage to traffic congestion.

Ajose said: “The association is making effort, in alliance with the Lagos State government, to have a cleaner environment. However, the association has its sheriffs that are posted to key areas to manage traffic, also letters has been written to government requesting that the toll should have a human face.”He continued, “the association has engaged New Towns Development Authority to clear the secondary drainages, and has also written letters to the government on the cleaning.”

In a presentation on strategies that companies could adopt to succeed even in a meltdown economy, Mrs. Chika Idalla-Allison, chairman, social and publicity committee (LERA) advised companies to go beyond customer satisfaction to winning their loyalty. She said, “the primary reason for the day’s meeting is how LERA can co-exist with companies in the estate in order to make businesses succeed in Lekki Phase I.”

The association’s treasurer, Oliver Obi, stressed the need for companies in the estate to partner with LERA in the interest of both parties.According to Obi, “LERA will do its best to ensure a conducive environment for business to flourish and the companies must pay their dues and do its corporate social responsibility (CSR) to support the association.”
