The Lagos State Government has advised directors in the state public service to be more proficient in their performance in order to enhance productivity in their operations.
   
The governor, Akinwunmi Ambode,who was represented by the Commissioner for Establishments, Training and Pensions, Dr Benson Oke, at a two-day training session for the state directors in Lagos, said such was central to actualising the vision of the public service and ensuring improved performance.
 
He said improvements are not only important; they are also critical and fundamental. Furthermore, individuals and organisations must always ensure that they are on the path to actualising their vision and fulfilling their stated mission.”
 
Ambode, therefore, said there is need to understand and adhere to a well-defined code of corporate governance through open communication, good management and effective leadership.
 
He said, “Without these hallmarks of corporate governance, it is difficult to manage strategically because the basic framework of goal-setting and decision-making is missing.
