Cowbell-CopyRepresentatives from Lagos, Edo and Cross River states have joined the league of six other states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to clinch the semi-final stage of the ongoing maiden edition of Cowbellpedia television quiz show.

With this the three states have joined River, Bayelsa, Osun, Oyo, Imo and Ondo states whose representatives secured the seminal tickets in the first and second episodes.

Recall that organisers of the Cowbell National Secondary School Mathematics Competition (NASSMAC), Promasidor Nigeria Limited, has during the second stage of the competition introduced a television series called Cowbellpedia, which is now being aired on 14 television stations across the country every Saturday.

With this, nine states have secured semi-final tickets out of the 33 states that qualified for the second stage, including the FCT. They would therefore proceed to the next stage of the mathematics competition.

Specifically, a 12-year old student of Hosanna High School, Ikorodu, Tomiwa Oni, led the pack of his counterparts from Sokoto, Benue, Abuja and Ogun to secure a slot for Lagos State in the junior category of the competition.

A 13-year old pupil of University Preparatory Secondary School, Benin, Edo State, Agbadudu Oghenekvwe came second in that category.

In the senior category, representatives of Emilis Academy, Calabar, Cross River State and Loyola Jesuit College, Abuja; Joshua Mokut and Kamaldeen Raji emerged first and second respectively.

So far, a total of 12 students have qualified for the semi-final stage, while 24 have been evicted.
