The Management Council of Lagos Country Club has applauded Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola for bringing significant innovations to bear on governance in the state and the country at large.

President of the Club, Mr. Tajudeen Akande, who gave the commendation when the club paid a courtesy visit to the governor in his office at Government Secretariat, Osogbo, noted that the tremendous change through critical infrastructural development brought about by his administration has attracted national and international attentions.

Akande lauded the efforts of the administration at turning around the socio-economic fortunes of the state, making it a reference point in Nigeria in infrastructural development and improved living standard of the citizenry.

He said the state’s Six-Point Integral Action Plan has not only redefined Osun, but also set a good path for its socio-economic prosperity.

According to him, the pace of development and transformation witnessed by the people of Osun in the last six years of Aregbesola’s government was in no doubt a reference point in good governance and responsible leadership.

In his remarks, Aregbesola said his administration was committed ‎to both human and capital development, with the aim of making life more abundant, prosperous and worthy of living for the people.

He said despite the current economic situation in the country, and Osun in particular, his administration has never deterred from its commitment to rejuvenate the economy of the state and as well set Osun on the path of prosperity in all aspects of life.

“It is time for us to take off our minds on the so-called monolithic economy and dwell tremendously on policies that could fast-track diversification to other sectors.

“Nigeria must not fail. Africa must not fail and the sure path to this goal is for us to be more productive in all we do as a nation.

“It is time for us to be self-recovery, self-motivated, self-reliant, self-dependent and self-sustained as we walk out of recession, poverty, hunger and unemployment and other vices in our land,” Aregbesola stressed.
