June 12: Aregbesola, Okei-Odumakin, Oladipupo laud decision
Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola also lauded the president’s decision.
He said he was elated by the honor done to Moshood Abiola, as well as to his running mate, Babagana Kingibe and the late human rights activist, Gani Fawehinmi.
The state Commissioner for Home Affairs, Dr. Obawale Adebisi said this in a statement.
For the President, Women Arise and Centre for Change, Dr. Joe Okei Odumakin, the spirit of Abiola can only forgive Nigeria if free and fair elections become a norm in the country.
She said in a statement yesterday that this should begin with the Ekiti gubernatorial election, which is fast approaching.
Okei-Odumakin said, though the honor is belated, it is a welcome development. We have campaigned around these issues over the years and that is why we accept these honours no matter how belated.”
Also, the Ogun State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Bashorun Muyiwa Oladipo applauded Buhari’s pronouncement, describing it as historic feat and a dream come true.
