Jang Advises Water Board On Safety
Senator representing Plateau Northern Senatorial District, Dr. Jonah David Jang, has warned the personnel of the Plateau State Water Board to be cautious about the way they dispose of empty Chlorine Cylinders used for water treatment at the Lamingo plant.
Jang’s warning came on the heels of last Saturday’s chemical explosion at the plant where no fewer than 14 persons died leaving over hundred people severely injured. The senator stated this yesterday when he personally took time off to visit the injured persons at the Plateau State Specialist Hospital Wards where he gave them words of encouragement.
Speaking with journalists after visiting the injured, Jang cautioned the workers of the Water Board to find a way of handling their empty gas cylinders so that they are not just left carelessly. According to him, “Maybe somebody didn’t know what it was and just went and pull the nozzle out. Now, look at what it has caused. So, the Water Board should have been more careful in the way they handle empty gas cylinders and cylinders that carry such dangerous liquids.
