COUNSEL to Mr. Presley Iyalagha, Festus Keyamo Chambers has dismissed rife insinuations in Ogulagha and Odimodi communities in Burutu Local Council of Delta State that his client was threatening to instigate communal war.

A statement issued by Barrister Omonade Matthew on behalf of the said the rumour was being propagated by some greedy and self-centred individuals against their client because of his strong opposition against the continuous embezzling of community funds meant for the betterment of the hapless people of Odimodi Community, hence they have resorted to blackmailing and defaming the character and hard-earned reputation of Iyalagha before the good people of these communities.

The law firm said: “Iyalagha is a bonafide and law-abiding son of Odimodi Community with high respect for other neighboring communities (Ogulagha Community inclusive) hence, cannot take steps or any action that is capable of threatening the peace and tranquility of any of these neighboring communities. Moreso, our client still holds and respects the sanctity of both Odimodi and Ogulagha communities and has not and will not engage in or encourage anything that would breach peace.”
