The battle line may have been drawn between Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode and Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the governor yesterday expressed his readiness to contest the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket on Saturday through direct primaries.

Party members across the state are expected to choose the governorship flag bearer through direct primaries as directed by the party leadership and the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC).

In a statement issued by Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Kehinde Bamigbetan, the governor restated his readiness to contest the primaries in line with the party’s choice.

His words: “As Saturday, September 29, 2018, approaches, I am happy to restate my commitment to participate in the process, having procured and submitted my nomination form.

“I am doing so having formally declared my intention to seek a second term to continue on the path of growth and development that Lagos has witnessed since 2015.”

Ambode also expressed gratitude to the National Leader of the party, Bola Tinubu, party elders and executives, GAC and the Lagos people whose support and understanding had assisted him to redefine the concept of greatness in Lagos.
