Imo-Assembly

Satisfied by the level of performance of the Commissioner of Police (CP), Taiwo Frederick Lakanu, since he assumed duties in September last year, the 27-member Imo State House of Assembly has commended him and expressed implicit confidence on the zeal with which he has carried his duties, especially in fighting all manner of crimes in the state.

A statement to that effect was issued by the House and signed by the Permanent Secretary/Clerk, Chris Duru, and made available to The Guardian.

The statement said that the state Police command under Lakanu have arrested many criminals, including kidnappers, car snatchers among others, in hundreds, and charged them accordingly, adding that the people of the state have had cause to sleep at nights in his period than before.

Lakamu is said to be personally patrolling and leading operation Kpochapu (operation clear criminals) that was inaugurated last year. He also gave out his personal mobile telephone numbers to monarchs and the people to contact him in case of any criminal offence.
