TALKS at the forthcoming Igbo World Assembly (IWA) convention scheduled for September 27 in Enugu will centre on the political future of Nd’Igbo, the group has disclosed.

In a statement by the IWA Chairman, Dr. Nwachukwu Anakwenze, Media and Publicity Secretary, Ike Ude-Chime, and others, the group said the convention would coincide with the 2015 Ohanaeze Nd’Igbo Day, adding that papers would be presented by prominent Igbo professionals at home and in the Diaspora.

According to the group, the other sub-themes to be discussed at the convention include the consolidation of Igbo economic policy, tradition, culture and heritage, just as the forum would make efforts to identify the race’s future political leadership.

Equally, it will carry out an overview of the prevailing socio-economic challenges in the country as they affect the Igbo nation. Coming after the general elections, this ninth edition of IWA convention will also attempt to x-ray the various fallouts of the 2015 election, especially as the region has now found itself in opposition politics.

The convention attracts delegates from different chapters across the world and holds every year.
