‘If i had worn my waistband, i wouldn’t have been arrested’, robber

The Ogun State Police Command have arrested three fake soldiers, suspected to be responsible for some of the robbery, kidnapping and rape cases in Agbado area of the State.

The Ogun State Police Command have arrested three fake soldiers, suspected to be responsible for some of the robbery, kidnapping and rape cases in Agbado area of the State.

The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu who paraded the suspects, Joseph David, Adebayo Olanrewaju and Anmo Gilbert at the Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta yesterday, said they were apprehended following complaints by two of their victims, Paul Oniyo and Chioma Solomon.

Iliyasu added that investigations revealed that the suspects were until their arrest, using the military kits recovered from them to commit “robbery, hijacking of trucks along Lagos – Sagamu – Benin expressway, kidnapping and rape.”

Also paraded were three members of a five – man robbery and kidnapping gang led by an ex – convict, Sikiru Mustapha.

Federal Special Anti – robbery Squad (FSARS) at Imodi -Imosan in Ijebu – Ode area of the State, arrested the three suspects, Tomiwa Olajide, Sikiru Mustapha and Ibrahim Bakare. Items recovered include a short gun, live cartridges and assorted charms. One of the gang members, Olajide Tomiwa who spoke to journalists, revealed that if he had worn his waistband having assorted charms, he wouldn’t have been arrested.

The Police Commissioner also gave the names of other robbery suspects arrested in Ijebu-Igbo area of the State as, Suleman Akinyemi (Anobi), Sesan Sonubi (Sure boy), Segun Adeoye (Ifa), Sunday Omolewa (Ifa Sunday), Samiu Oluwasesan (Biggy), Ramoni Alausa (Consulate) and Dayo Okesola.
