How to fasttrack South East development, by Ikpeazu

Shifting from importation to agriculture and production remains the catalyst for the development of the South East region, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has said.

He told The Guardian that all hands must be on deck for the overall development of the region.

Ikpeazu, who asserted that there were enormous prospects for the zone, described the Igbos as global economic growth catalysts.

“If you want to spread prosperity, leave it in the hands of Ndigbo. Apart from their spirit of entrepreneurship, they have developed every environment they found themselves in. An Igbo man everywhere is not there just to make money and go away, but also contributes to the development of that community.”

The governor, who was speaking at a summit in Owerri, implored sons and daughters of Igbo stock to divest some their investments home, saying, “we cannot be going about looking for investors when we Igbos are the biggest investors the world over.

” It is high time we fast-tracked the development of Igboland. Our people should invest here at home and by so doing, they will create job opportunities for our people to reduce crimes motivated by unemployment.”
