Group urges Tarabans to shun religious, ethnic sentiment

A call has gone to the people of Taraba Sate to shun all forms of sentiments and support the incumbent governor, Darius Dickson Ishaku, to re-contest in 2019.

A call has gone to the people of Taraba State to shun all forms of sentiments and support the incumbent governor, Darius Dickson Ishaku, to re-contest in 2019.

The call which came yesterday from a group, Christian as ‘The Ordinary People’s Forum’ domiciling in Jalingo, the state capital, said the ordinary people scattered across the nooks and crannies of the state, have all agreed to support governor Ishaku’s dream to re-contest.

Citing the numerous achievements of the incumbent governor especially in the areas of security of lives and property, the decision to ensure his re-election, they said was informed “ by the several developmental strides of the governor in the period he has been serving the state in that capacity.”

Others include the establishment of Ngada Special Development Area, the establishment which they said had assisted the “ ordinary people secured employment.”

The National President of the Forum, Useni G. Garba, said “ we the ordinary people’s forum of Taraba state today call on governor Ishaku to consider re-contesting the position of governor of this state for second term come 2019.”

The group admonished the ordinary people of the state not to allow themselves “ to be used and dumped by power seeking politicians that will come to promise a change.”

They also beckoned at eligible voters who are yet to register to do so immediately.
