governA SOCIO-POLITICAL advocacy group of Delta State indigenes in Nigeria and the Diaspora has called for good governance in the country and an end to the state of underdevelopment and rot in Sapele.

Delta Alliance for Development (DAD), which made the call after two meetings in Sapele and Lagos, warned that it would mobilise against politicians and political office holders who exploit the people and keep Sapele and Delta State down.

The group, in a communiqué signed by its global coordinators for America and Europe (Bekibele Onome), Kingsley Jeremi (Nigeria), Efosa German (Asia and the Pacific) and Sylvester Akpore, after the meetings, however, congratulated former Sapele Local Council Chairman, Rt. Hon. Monday Igbuya, on his inauguration as Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly.

They also greeted Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission’s (DESOPADEC) chairman, Godwin Ebosa.
