ALL the 36 state governors will continue to give unalloyed support to the Federal Government in its efforts to restore peace and normalcy in the North-East and other parts of the country, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto said yesterday.

“We all appreciate the need to confront the menace (of insurgency) with one voice. All of us fully support the President and our security agencies in ensuring that peace and normalcy returns to the North-East in particular and all parts of the country in general.”

Speaking when he received national leaders of the Jamaatul Izalatul Bid’a wa Iqatatus sunna (JIBWIS) in Sokoto yesterday, Tambuwal said religious groups have important roles to play in enlightening the people about skewed ideologies, which are responsible for insurgency.

He said people should be very vigilant and assist the security agencies in their responsibilities to secure the nation.

Earlier in his remarks, JIBWIS leader, Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, commended Tambuwal in his efforts to enhance unity and understanding among various religious groups in the country.

He said Sokoto government’s policies on education should be emulated by all states.
