In its bid to ensure rapid growth and development at the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, the administration is set to commence the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences.

This is in addition to the Faculties of Pharmacy and Law, which are also on the way.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Kayode Soremekun, said his administration is poised to give quality and affordable education to all citizens of the country and beyond, noting he will leave no stones unturned to ensure smooth operations for staff and students, as well as a harmonious working relationship between the management and staff.

The VC, who disclosed this while receiving the report of the committee for the establishment of the new faculty, appreciated the Professor Bode Fakunle-led body for a job well done, assuring that the report would be studied carefully for implementation.

He expressed his readiness to liaise with stakeholders such as the National Universities Commission (NUC) and relevant professional bodies, to ensure a smooth takeoff of the faculty, promising he would go the extra mile to provide all the needed facilities.

The chairman of the committee appreciated the management for finding the members worthy to undertake the task.
