Paseda Legacy Foundation has promised to promote academic excellence at all levels in Ogun State. The Chairman of the Foundation, Otunba Rotimi Paseda, who spoke in Abeokuta yesterday, stated that to confront the challenges facing teaching and learning in the 21st century, he had decided to support the sector through scholarships and grants to brilliant but indigent students.

Paseda, a businessman and philanthropist was the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) Governorship candidate in the 2015 election. He spoke while on inspection tour to the coaching centres of the on-going Free Holiday Coaching, organised by his Foundation in Ijebu-Ode, emphasised that promoting the culture of healthy rivalry among students through debates and quiz competitions across the three Senatorial Districts in the State would bolster the intellectual knowledge of Nigerian students.

He pledged that, the Foundation would also be funding academic research works, as plans were under way to sign a partnership agreement with some notable International NGOs on leadership training.

He blamed the lopsided appointments made by the government in recent past on the poor record of the education sector.

He emphasised that the on-going free holiday coaching across the State is not for political gain but to instill moral values among the future generations.
