A late night inferno on Monday in Ambursa village, Kebbi, has resulted in the deaths of nine family members.

Gov. Atiku Bagudu led top government functionaries, politicians and well wishers to offer the Salatul Jana’iza prayers for the dead on Tuesday, after he had condoled with the family of the deceased.

Abubakar Danlabo, head of the household, disclosed in tears that his wife, four males and four females died in the inferno that also consumed household property, foodstuff and livestock.

The sole administrator of the Birnin Kebbi Local Government Council, Alhaji Aliyu Ambursa, described the inferno as an act of God.
