Ex-Air Force chief tasks NAF on fleet maintenance
FORMER spokesman of the Nigeria Air Force, Air Commodore Yusuf Anas (rtd) has charged authorities of the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) to emphasis on regular maintenance of its fleet and equipment to avert incessant air crashes.
Anas, who spoke to The Guardian on telephone yesterday commended the Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Air Vice Marshal Sadique Abubakar, for responding promptly to the recent disaster by setting up a panel of inquiry as well as visiting the scene of the crash.
According to Anas, “The disaster that happened is unfortunate, but I must commend the CAS for responding promptly and setting up a panel of inquiry to investigate the crash and also visiting the scene himself. I would also advise that the Chief should emphasize on regular periodic maintenance of all the fleet and equipment to avert such incident in future.”
