The Kano State police command yesterday paraded a 20-year-old man, Sultan Bello, for allegedly impersonating Emir of Kano, Mallam Muhammadu Sanusi. The suspect, who allegedly used the picture of the Emir on his Instagram page, was said to have raked over N20 million from unsuspecting public.

Parading the suspect, Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Magaji Musa Majiya, told newsmen that the man was intercepted following a petition forwarded to the command by a woman who does want her name mentioned, who he defrauded on the pretense to being the Emir of Kano.

The suspect admitted he has been impersonating the Emir on social media and has so far defrauded many unsuspecting persons before luck ran out on him.
