The Ebonyi State Government has debunked a newspaper publication (not The Guardian) that the state is faced with water scarcity.

The state’s Commissioner for Water Resources, Mrs. Euphemia Nwali, stated this yesterday when she took journalists round the state to justify the claim that water is running everyday in the state.

She said that the mega water treatment plant, Oferekpe Water Scheme, had started delivering over 50,000 cubic metres of water daily to the people of the state to solve acute water problem in the area.

Nwali said: “You can see that water is running and we have visited different locations.

She noted that another mega water scheme in the state, Ezillo Water Treatment Plant, is undergoing rehabilitation and would soon begin full operational services to complement the Oferekpe Water Scheme.

The commissioner, who described as falsehood a Facebook account report that there was water scarcity in the state, urged residents to visit the ministry for connection of water from the distribution lines to their residence.
