DSS nabs kidnappers, other criminals nationwide

The Department of State Services (DSS) says it has recorded successes in its tactical operations with other sister agencies in the arrest of some kidnappers, terrorists and other high profile criminals across the country.

A statement yesterday by its spokesman, Tony Opuiyo, said the service arrested a notorious kidnap kingpin, Terwase Akwaza alias Ghana, and some of his close associates on June 9, 2017.

He said the trio of Dondo Orsaa,Terhile Mbaloha and Teryima Ihiambe alias Clark were apprehended at various locations within the Katsina-Ala LGA, Benue State.
According to him, the service also arrested Yusuf Aliyu at Ungwar Danmani, Rigasa, Kaduna-North LGA, for his suspected membership of the syndicate terrorizing users of the Abuja-Kaduna road.

Also on June 9, 2017, at Dankande village, Rigachiku, Igabi LGA, Kaduna State, the service confronted a notorious kidnap gang. He said Isah Baki, leader of the gang escaped with gunshot wounds, three of his members: Hassan Abdullahi (22 years), Abubakar Abdullahi (27 years) and Suleiman Abdullahi (30 years) were arrested.

The spokesman added that on the same say along the Nnamdi Azikiwe Express Road in Kaduna, it engaged another dangerous kidnap gang and arrested two of its members: Yusuf Sani and Yusuf Adamu. Two AK-47 rifles and nine live ammunitions were recovered from the suspects who are currently being interrogated.
