A pathologists in University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, United States of America, Anthony Okorodudu, has called for upward review of the four per cent annual budgetary allocation to the healthcare sector in Nigeria, in line with economic reality.

While delivering the second guest lecture series of the School of Basic Medical Sciences of the University of Benin, with the topic ‘Strategies for ensuring reliable and dependable quality clinical laboratory services in developing countries, he revealed that individuals pay 74 per cent revenue in the sector.

Okorodudu called on policy-makers in developing countries to enact policies that would turn Africa from a dumping ground for substandard goods to manufacturer of chemical and pharmaceutical equipment.
