House of Representatives and former Speaker, Bauchi State Assembly, Haliru Dauda Jika, has commended the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.

SPEAKER of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has congratulated the- Most Reverend Josiah Idowu-Fearon, on his appointment as the Secretary-General of the Consultative Council of the Anglican Communion Worldwide.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Turaki Hassan, the Speaker said he is highly elated with the emergence of Reverend Idowu-Fearon as the second highest in the Anglican church world wide. He observed that the appointment is a testimony of the Bishop`s stewardship as a committed man of God, lover of peace and a spiritual father.

Dogara noted that over the years, Bishop Idowu-Fearon has helped in bridging the religious divide in Nigeria with his peace gospel and inter-faith missions between Christians and Muslims.

The Speaker, however, charged him to use his new office as the Secretary-General of the Consultative Council of the Anglican Communion, to push for global peace, dialogue and religious harmony amongst the people of the world.

“More than ever before, the world is in dire need of angels like Idowu-Fearon at the helm of affairs of religious organisations to help bring about the much needed peace and stability,” he said.
