Nemesis yesterday caught up with two kidnap suspects in Asaba at a bank premises in their attempt to withdraw money from an ATM. It is gathered that the suspects, Emeka Ndukwe and Fabian Okara, were arrested by police at the bank premises (name withheld) in their attempt to withdraw through an ATM, the ransom money deposited in the account by relations of their victims.

Expectedly, the kidnap suspects had before the bubble burst, called the family of their victims (names withheld) demanding for N400, 000, directing that the money be paid into a particular account where they were arrested.

Meanwhile, chairman of Ekpan Community in Uvwie LGA, Monday Oki has petitioned the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) to come to his aid and protect him from the hands of some persons in the community after his life. A copy of the petition made available to The Guardian, alleged that some persons in his community had threatened to eliminate him and the petition written through his lawyer, Alexender Esiyoma, urged the AIG to investigate the threat to his client’s life and bring those behind it to book.

Also, a female student, Edith Okafor of the Delta State University, Asaba Campus has called on the police to beef up security in the area as armed bandits who double as kidnapers presently make the area unsafe.

According to her, “I was almost raped and kidnaped by these hoodlums who attacked me on Thursday night on my way from the market to my house but for my screams that attracted some persons to the scene, the hoodlums ran away after they tore my clothes. I call on the police to always patrol the area to bring these hoodlums to book, “ she said.
