The Delta State Traditional Rulers Council have condemned in very strong terms the quit notice by Arewa Youth and the increasing spate of hate speeches across the country.

In a communiqué read by its first Vice Chairman Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, Rtd. Gen. Felix Mujakperuo, Orhue 1, the traditional rulers said if not checked, the development could plunge the country into a needless crisis, the end of which might not be predictable. It described the quit notice as unwarranted, misplaced and undemocratic.

Insisting that the indivisibility of Nigeria was not negotiable, the royal fathers explained that the right to live and engage in legitimate business was an inalienable right of all Nigerians, as guaranteed by the constitution irrespective of tribe, religion and political affiliation.

The royal fathers reminded all Nigerians that the strength of the country is in its ethnic diversity and therefore appealed to all well meaning Nigerians to promote acts capable of advancing the continued peace, stability and development of the country.
