WORKERS at Dangote’s Obajana cement company continued their strike yesterday, saying they have no intention to call it off until their welfare package is reviewed.

The workers, mainly from the transport department, are asking for salary increase and a review of their welfare package.

Their strike assumed a new dimension on Friday they practically blocked the entrance gate to deprive access by management staff to the premises.

The transport workers, who spoke to The Guardian during the protest at the premises of the company, asked President Muhammed Buhari to beam his anti graft satellite on President of the company, Aliko Dangote, because of his exploitative attitude.

They begged the President to prevail on Dangote group of companies to implement staff welfare and salary increment, which the management has been avoiding.

One of the workers, Chizoba Kamson, said, “we are the ones doing the work, which has put Dangote on international limelight as one of the richest in the world.

“We have been here working for several years, some have put in 30 years, others 10, 17, 20 years. Some of our colleagues take N35, 000, 24000, 20000 home every month, while some of the senior management staff are taking home more than N1m every month, yet our wives and children go to the same market and schools respectively.
