Crisis rocks Kano APC over warning issued to Kwankwaso
Crisis is brewing in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, following claims by the state chairman of the party, Umar Haruna Doguwa, that the statement he read two days ago, warning the former state governor, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, for political misconduct was forced on him.
It would be recalled that Doguwa read a statement in which he described Kwankwaso’s condolence visit to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, following the latter’s mother’s death, as unfortunate.
But, the chairman in a statement yesterday, said he was not the author of the earlier statement on Kwankwaso’s “misconduct.”
He said, “The previous press statement read and signed by me was not written and made by my humble self, neither did I participate in the drafting. Rather, I was coerced to sign it under duress and close marking by the state apparatus.”
