Justice Ogunsanya Sedoten of a Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja yesterday remanded a 33-year-old man, Oyebuchi Okadigbo in prison for allegedly stealing the sum of N85 million belonging to one Alhaji Muhammed Adio.

The judge ordered his remand following his arraignment on two- count charges bordering on conspiracy to commit armed robbery and he pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to him.

The lead prosecution counsel, Mrs. Mosunmola Balogun, told the court that the defendant and others still at large, committed the offence on November 14, 2014, by robbing the victim in his residence, along Lagos Badagry Expressway.

She said the defendant after collecting the sum of N85 million also went away with the victim’s Black Berry Curve 5, clothes and ECOWAS international passport.

The presiding judge, however, ordered that the defendant be remanded in prison and adjourned till March 24, 2016 for commencement of trial.
