Correspondents’ chapel congratulates Dickson’s new media aides

The leadership of the Federated Correspondents’ Chapel, Bayelsa State chapter of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has hailed the recent appointment of journalists into key positions by Governor Seriake Dickson.

A statement signed by the chairman of the chapel, Kola Oredipe, described the appointment of Mr. Fidelis Soriwe, a former sub-editor with Punch Newspapers as Special Adviser on Media Relations as good choice.

Mr. Soriwei, who has put in almost 20 years into active journalism practice after he rose through the rank in the media industry until the position of Sub. Assistant Editor in the Punch before his appointment.

The chapel leadership congratulates the new Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Francis Agbo, who is a long-standing friend to the Governor and a member of his media team since 2012.

The statement commended the Governor for his show of reward for hardwork and loyalty in the appointment of Benue State-born Agbo, as his spokesman.Mr. Agbo, who was the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media Relations before the latest appointment has put in over 15 years into journalism practice and rose to the position of Political Editor with Leadership Newspapers Abuja before joining the Restoration team in 2012.

The statement equally congratulated Mr. Tari Febabor on his appointment as the new General Manager of the State Broadcasting Corporation.Comrade Oredipe, described Mr. Febabor as a thorough-bred broadcast journalist who has always distinguished himself in any given assignment.

The statement charged all the new appointees to carry out their assignments to the best of their abilities and continue to further the course of journalism.The statement also urged all practising journalists in the state to put their differences behind and rally support for the appointees to enable them succeed in office.
