THE problem of incessant strikes action in health sector have been a major set back that could plunge the nation’s health into a limbo, if left unaddressed, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, (UITH), Prof. Abdulwaheed Olatinwo, has said.

Olatinwo, at this year’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) held in Ilorin, canvassed harmonious relationship and amicable settlement of rifts between management and staff of government-owned hospitals towards eradicating the problem.

Olatinwo said:” It is no secret that many of our tertiary health institutions are currently in the throes of strike actions by doctors, or have just emerged from it. The health sector is in limbo and our patients are gradually losing confidence in us.’’
