Cabinet reshuflement: Al-Makura fires SSG, head of service
Governor Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa State has sacked his secretary to the State government and head of Service in his ongoing cabinet check off. The dismissal also was followed by appointment of a new Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Head of Civil Service.
This was contained in a statement signed by Mr Umaru Azores, outgoing SSG and made available to Newsmen on Wednesday in Lafia. According to the statement, the governor, who is in the last lap of his administration has approved the appointment of new SSG and Head of Service.
The statement added that, Barr Mohammed Abdullahi, a former Attorney-General in the state takes over from Umaru Azores as the new SSG.
It added that, Abdullahi who was a former Attorney General under the administration of Abdullahi Adamu, first Executive Governor, also serve as Attorney General in the first tenure of Al-Makura.
The statement further added that, Thomas Ari-Ogiri is to take over from Joseph Anchor as the new Head of Civil Service of the state.
The statement was quoted that, “Ari-Ogiri until his new appointment as the Head of Service, was the Permanent Secretary in charge of General Administration in the office of the SSG.
“With these two key appointments, the engine room of the state’s public service has been infused with new blood to face the challenges ahead,” it added.
