President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, are expected to lead a government delegation to the coronation and presentation of staff of office to Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja 11, on Monday.

Other eminent citizens expected at the ceremony include the Senate President, Olusola Saraki, 25 state governors, ministers, monarchs and representative of the Queen of England.

Addressing a press conference yesterday at Ile Oodua, the official palace of the Ooni, the eldest brother of Ooni Ogunwusi who led members of Media Sub-committee to the venue of the conference, Prince Adegboyega Ogunwusi, said arrangement for the coronation was in top gear to make the occasion hitch-free.

Prince Ogunwusi unfolded 10 areas of priorities the monarch has mapped out for himself to transform the ancient city of Ile-Ife. They include electrification of the town, establishment of a furniture factory, a football academy, rebranding of Ife to make it a tourist destination and development of a 200 bedroom Ife Grand Resort and Leisure.

Other measures in the pipeline to lift Ile-Ife are setting up of an asphalt plant, a national archive library, expansion and refurbishing of the palace and rebranding of Mokuro Water Factory.
He said the monarch who had already donated about 50 transformers to various communities in Ife also planned to purchase additional 30 to boost electricity supply in the town.

Activities lined up for the coronation began yesterday with an inter-denominational service held at the outer part of the palace. A coronation carnival would hold across Ife tomorrow while a group of artistes would take the centre stage on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, it would be the turn of traditional worshippers who would stage different performances to brighten up the event. A Jumat service is scheduled for Friday, a musical show and football match would also be held on Thursday as part of activities to make the occasion memorable.

This would be followed by a coronation lecture on Saturday while the event would peak on Monday with presentation of staff of office by Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola.
A thanksgiving service would conclude the programme on Sunday December 13 at Anglican Church, Ayegbaju, Ile-Ife.
