Buhari, Dogara, Fayose, rejoice with Tinubu at 64

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday and admirers of the former Lagos State governor and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, pay him tributes as he turns 64.

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday joined the associates and admirers of the former Lagos State governor and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to pay him tributes as he clocks 64 years today.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina yesterday, the president said the rising political profile of Tinubu since he was elected a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 1992 was a testimony to his forthrightness, diligence and doggedness, the same qualities that had endeared him to the electorate and given him all-round success as a private sector worker, a businessman and two-term governor of Lagos State.

“The president assures the national leader that his patriotism and commitment to democracy and good governance, and his generous spirit will always be remembered and appreciated by generations of Nigerians”, the statement said.

He prayed that the Almighty God should grant the Asiwaju long life, good health, wisdom and prosperity as he steadfastly supports efforts to promote the development of the country.

In the same vein, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has ‎described Tinubu as a formidable political force who has brought changes to the nation’s political landscape .

In a statement by his spokesman, Mr. Turaki Hassan, to congratulate Asiwaju Tinubu on the occasion of his 64th birthday, Dogara said that the entire House of Representatives was also using the opportunity to salute Tinubu for being a great leader who had attained milestones in the country.

He said: “On this joyous occasion of your birthday, we in the House of Representatives salute you, great leader, for the milestones you have attained in Nigeria.

“Your feats are bold and exceptional; from business to governance and politics. As a governor, you made sweeping reforms that till date your successors are still building on and making Lagos State proud.

“In politics, you have been a formidable force, helping to put together a great political party that won power at the centre in Nigeria. You have proved to be a true hero of democracy, a light that cannot be concealed!

“As you mark yet another year, my prayer for you is that God will continue to consolidate your efforts and crown them all with success.”

Besides, Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has described Tinubu‎ as a leader and pillar in Yorubaland and Nigeria as a whole.

In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Idowu Adelusi in Ado-Ekiti yesterday as a congratulatory message to mark Tinubu’s 64th birthday, the governor said the national leader of the APC had over the years proved to be a great political figure in the country.

The statement said: “I heartily felicitate with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as he clocks 64. Whether one likes it or not, Asiwaju Tinubu has become a political pillar and leader not only in Yorubaland, but also in Nigeria.’’

Also, Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun yesterday said in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Adejuwon Soyinka: “On this occasion of your birthday, I join you and your immediate and political families in celebrating the abundant grace of God on your life.

“Your life has been an eventful one dotted by numerous achievements and accomplishments. Nigeria has benefitted immensely from your fountain of knowledge, wealth of experience, political sagacity and leadership acumen. The remarkable impact you have made in all spheres of human endeavour remains a reference point. ”
Amosun prayed that God should preserve the celebrant for many more years to come and continue to grant him good health.
