Over five hundred patients were yesterday treated free in Jato-Aka community of Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State during the 2017 NYSC second quarter Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers.

Addressing members of the community, the state coordinator of NYSC, Mrs. Eno Herbert Awakessien said the programme is a deliberate action at providing free health services to rural dwellers that cannot take care of their medical needs due to financial challenge.

“It is against this background that we have come with doctors, nurses, pharmacists, laboratory scientists, and other professionals, as well as medical facilities to give succor to members of Jato Aka community,” Awakassien stated.

She lauded partners who keyed into the vision, particularly the Ministry of Health and two daughters of Jato Aka community, Miss Lucy Ann Laha and Miss Jennifer Laha of NYSC Secretariat FCT and Plateau State respectively.
