Benue has no Monkeypox case, says Health commissioner
The Benue State Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. (Mrs.) Cecilia Ojobo has said Benue State has not recorded any case of Monkeypox.
Ojobo, who made the clarification while speaking with The Guardian in Makurdi, said her ministry in collaboration with other stakeholders have embarked on sensitization exercise through talks and radio jingles across the state on possible ways of managing the disease.
Commenting on the negative impression created in Apa LGA of the state where parents shied away from presenting their children/wards for the routine immunization exercise, the health commissioner urged parents to ignore the rumors, as the immunization is not aimed at reducing the population as insinuated.
