THE Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has revealed that the road condition between Ilorin and Jebba, Saadu Border, was the cause of fuel shortage in Kano and other neighbouring towns.

This was disclosed by the IPMAN chairman, Kano state branch, BashirAbubakar Dan Malam during a flag-off ceremony of the sale of kerosene at subsidized price, at AZMAN Oil and Gas filling station, Daurawa, Kano.

According to him the shortage of fuel in the state was not their fault, stressing that they were not bringing the product from Lagos.

“Many of our drivers spend seven days before they pass through where the area is bad. It was due to that bad condition of the road that we are not able to bring in the products, “he said.

He urged government to do everything possible to end the problem.

On his part the commercial manager of AZMAN Oil and Gas, Abdullahi Tanko Ahmed, said they decided to sell kerosene at N50 per litre because they needed to see that the product reaches the common man in the society.

“We are selling the product at N50 per litre and any buyer will buy only 20 litres so that many people can get it,” he said.

Ahmed added that they would continue selling kerosene at the subsidised rate so long as they get the product from government.

The commercial manager emphasised that they would sell the product in their branches of situated on Ibrahim Taiwo Road, Sharada, Gwarzo and Bachirawa.
