Babcock Holds Community Guest Day

AS the Babcock University Schools, Ogba, Lagos, holds its yearly Community Guest and Thanksgiving Service, the Federal Government has been called to commence the implementation of its proposed free meal programme, for children in public schools in the country.

The appeal was made by the Principal of the school, Mr. Gabriel Fasanu, who noted that the programme is important because parents of most of the pupils cannot afford three square meals a day, which according to him has often resulted to poor academic performance and increased number of out-of-school children.

The educationist, who described the one free meal programme as a laudable idea, said the earlier it is implemented, the better for Nigeria as a nation, according to him, these children, who are the future leaders of this country, should be adequately catered for.

He noted that the yearly programme is a medium to thank God for the achievements the school has recorded in her two years of existence and also to appreciate the staff, students, parents and its host community.

Fasanu stated that within the two years of its establishment, the primary school has been approved by Lagos State Ministry of Education, while the Junior and Senior Secondary School have also got WAEC and NECO approval to write their exams. He disclosed that the school has well equipped science laboratories, library, information technology centre and conducive learning environment among others.
