The founder of the Afe Babalola University, ABUAD, Ado-Ekiti, Chief Afe Babalola, SAN has pleaded with the Federal Government to revisit the abandoned Ekiti State Airport project.

Babalola stated this during his remarks at the 8th Founder’ Day and convocation of the university. He said though the airport was approved alongside others in Bayelsa, Delta and Gombe States, but while the other three states have been completed, that of Ekiti was aborted.

He said the university wouldn’t deviate from its
focus to bridge existing gap in functional education in the country,
by being pragmatic in its teaching approach. Meanwhile, 21-year-old Kevin Akporode emerged the overall best graduand of ABUAD for the 2016/2017 graduation.

The university, through its founder and Chancellor, Chief Afe
Babalola(SAN), also conferred honorary Doctor of Letters on former
Executive Secretary of the National Universities(NUC), Prof Peter
Okebukola and an American Philanthropist and President of Project
CURE Foundation, Dr. Williams Douglas Jackson.

The Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose, urged the
graduates to detach themselves from the erroneous impression that

lives better.
