map-kogiHIS Royal Majesty, the Attah Igala, Idakwo Ameoboni II, is not taking lightly the attempt by the Kogi State Ministry of Justice to usurp his power in matters that are purely outside its purview.

The Attah was reacting to series of publications in a Kogi State Government owned newspaper, where it was alleged that the state Justice Ministry advised against the enforcement of an alleged de-beading of Ogohi-Attah Ejule.

This was contained in a statement signed by the secretary to the royal palace, Alhaji Adama Sule. “Alhaji Akwu Achimugu stands de-beaded as Ogohi-Attah Ejule,” the statement said.

“The conferment and removal of the title of Ogohi-Attah Igala Ejule on any worthy son of the land squarely on the prerogatives of the the Attah, and not on the Ejeh Ofu sitting in council.”

It explained that the elevation of Akwu Achimugu Obaje to the status of Ofu Local Government Traditional Council without recourse to the Attah Igala who is also the chairman of the Igala traditional council rendered the exercise null and void.
