Atiku tasks traditional rulers on rice production
The Kebbi State governor, Atiku Abubakar Bagudu, has charged traditional rulers in the state to support his administration in rice production.
He made the call, yesterday, while receiving the rulers and other stakeholders who paid him a Sallah homage at Government House, Birnin Kebbi.
He said the responsibilities of the emirs and stakeholders are to educate their people who smuggle rice into the country. “You know that Kebbi State shares border with Benin Republic and Niger Republic. Please, I want you to help support my administration, as we are known for producing rice,” he said.
He also commended the Emir of Zuru, retired General Sani Sami, for inaugurating a committee to tackle security challenges.
In his response, the chairman of Kebbi State traditional rulers and Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Eliyasu Bashir, thanked the governor for delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
