Army uncovers bomb-making factory in Borno town
TROOPS of 7 Division of the Nigerian Army in their continuous military operations in Borno State have uncovered Boko Haram insurgents’ local bomb-making factory in Dikwa town that was reclaimed last week.
Director of Army Public Relations (DAPR), Col. Sani Usman, in a statement yesterday disclosed that the military was able to clear Dikwa and environs of terrorists, and recovered four Toyota Hilux vehicles used in terrorising residents and other adjourning communities along the border road of Dikwa-Maiduguri.
The reclaimed border town, Dikwa, is a farming community and 85 kilometres east of Maiduguri, the state capital.
The statement reads in part: “They also discovered that the terrorists have converted the abandoned Chemistry laboratory of Dikwa College of Education into an Improvised Explosive Devices making factory.
“Some of the equipment recovered from the laboratory include a welding machine and mine detectors.
“The gallant troops are in a very high spirit and more determined to further pursue the fleeing Boko Haram terrorists to all known enclaves and sanctuaries in the Sambisa and Gulumba Forests.”
