Army Destroys Cartons Of Fish, Meat Snatched By B’Haram
THE 7 Division of Nigerian Army has destroyed over 25, 000 cartons of dried fish and meat snatched by suspected Boko Haram terrorists from fishermen and businessmen in various parts of Borno state.
The interception and destruction of the foods, according to military authorities yesterday in Maiduguri, have crippled the logistic channels of Boko Haram activities in the state. “The destroyed food items were sold out by terrorists to finance their insurgency activities,” the spokesman of the Division, Col. Tukur Gusau, said yesterday at the Maiduguri destruction site.
Gusau added:” We are here this morning to witness the burning of food items we recovered from Boko Haram terrorists. The food items include some cartons of dried fish, approximately 2, 000 cartons and some bags of smoked beef, which is suspected to be from rustled cattle. “What we are doing today (yesterday) is to burn them, so that we can send a message to the adversaries.
The message to them is that they have to change their ways. They have to retract their steps. They must embrace peace. Otherwise, we will not stop until we cripple all their logistic channels and these. “We call on the people to continue to give us the information we need, so that insurgency will come to an end within the shortest possible time.”

WE HOPE THE FOOD STUFF ARE NOT DANGEROUS FOR HUMAN TO EATWELL DONE OUR GREAT SOLDIERS
Nigerian army has no business destroying lorry load of fishes since they said it was seized from fisher men in lake chad. They should have returned to the fisher men or to IDP Camp to be used in cooking for the children and women that are suffering.Nigerian Army always act before they think, was it the chief of defence staff or COAS that ordered them to destroy the lorry load of fishe heading to the market.
Don’t forget that this is a warfare – the stuffs could have been poisoned shortly before capture
But there are means of testing for whatever poison there might have been. Destruction is a needless and wasteful exercise..
How many poisons do you think are there and how does one test for ‘all’ of them. The army was wise in this instance and I salute the courage to destroy.
Weldone Nigerian Army! Every little bit helps… in the fight… against Boko Haram terrorists. Who knows if they poised that dried fish and meat?
Why is the army destroying fish and meat when IDPs are in desparate need of those. Is this another publicity stunt?
What is Buhari’s achievement against war on Boko Harams? Answer: He destroyed cartons of their fish and meat.
We will review and take appropriate action.
