Army commissions projects in Taraba

The Nigerian Army will be commissioning projects executed under its Exercise Ayem Akpatuma in Taraba State tomorrow.

The projects, which include the renovation of a primary health care facility and construction of a solar powered water project at Ibi Local Council, “have been inspected and certified for commissioning”.

In a statement, yesterday, signed by the Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Kayode Ogunsanya, the decision to embark on the projects was part of the Army’s Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) activities in the state.

He stated that after the commissioning, the projects would be handed over to the state, as part of activities to end the exercise.

During the exercise, the Army, according to the statement, embarked on medical outreach where a total of 1,368 persons were treated for various ailments.

As at the time of filing this report, many of the Army’s contingents drafted to the state have begun to return to various barracks outside the state.
